Child Soldiers are Victims of Warfare

In my opinion child soldiers are victims of warfare and there isn’t another way for me put it. I think that a child being involved in warfare is a terrible thing and war its self is a terrible thing. The people that recruit children into wars might actual target the kids that have lost their parents and or don’t really have a choice because they’re alone. Children whose parents have died or have been separated from them might go to military bases to ask for help. But an article that I’ve read told me that the military forcefully recruited children with these problems into their army.
The child soldiers are told to kill people and after they fight they usually have traumas and don’t feel well. The child soldiers don’t get treatment and the needed attention instead they get drugs to make them not feel the pain. A child soldier, Ismael Beah, had to fight in wars and was interviewed. He said that it took him a really long time to face the traumas. He said everyone received drugs and that this got rid of some of the pain the child soldiers experienced. I don’t know in what way these child soldiers can be considered perpetrators, well besides the fact that they still choose to kill people.
I don’t agree with the child soldiers being perpetrators but I can see why people would say that. These child soldiers have the choice to pull the trigger and kill their “enemy”. These child soldiers probably don’t know their enemies and so they are only killing them because they are told to do so. So that proves my point even more. The child soldiers are being told to what to do and so in that case they don’t really have a choice. This is why I think child soldiers are victims of warfare.

Reading Response on "The Stonekeeper"

Spoiler Alert

I just finished reading the “Amulet’s” first book “The Stonekeeper” and it was by far, the graphic novel I have read since the bone series. In sixth grade, one of the most enjoyable graphic novels was the bone series and I wouldn't mind reading one of the books right know. “The Stonekeeper” by Kazu Kibuishi was very interesting and I couldn't stop reading it. I’m pretty sure that this book has a sequel because this book says “book one”. I hope that I am able to read the rest of the “Amulet” series.
In this book Emily, the main character, gets a hold of an amulet, accidently and decides to keep it because she thinks it looks cool. Emily doesn't know the powers behind the amulet until her mother is in trouble and she tries to save her. The only way Emily can use the amulet’s power is by focusing and calming down. If Emily masters the power of the amulet, she can go back in time and save her father from dying and go back in time whenever she wants to. But when accepting to be the amulets master, there will be consequences and sacrifices. Emily didn't really have a choice because Emily said that she wanted to save her mother and the amulet said that I can help you but you have to accept to be my master. I don’t want to spoil the book anymore, read the book for yourself and enjoy.
I don’t really know how many more books are in the “Amulet” series but I want to read the rest of them by the time I finish middle school. I searched it up online and found out that there are at least 5 books in the series. So I’ll hopefully be able to read 4 more of the books soon. I want the rest of the books to be even better than the last, but I guess I have to read them to find out how they are.
In conclusion, the book “The Stonekeeper” as you can tell is one of my favorite books. Emily got a magical amulet and knows how to master the powers of it and use it at any time. There are 4 more books in the series that I want to read as soon as possible. I want to read the second book by next week. I don’t know what to say about the other characters so I’ll just say I recommend this book to anyone who likes any type of graphic novels.

Reading response on Diary of a Wimpy Kid

I read the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid a few days ago and as usual it was funny. The author Jeff Kinney really knew how to make the reader laugh when it came to telling short funny jokes at the right time. I think that this book was a success and that even though Jeff Kinney made six more Diary of a Wimpy Kid books he should still make more. I don’t think he should make more if he isn't willing to because then it probably won’t be as good.
I’m pretty sure I read all The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books that Jeff Kinney made just because it started getting boring reading his old books over and over again. The First Diary of a Wimpy Kid Kinney made wasn't called anything else and this book made him famous. He made the rest of his books because the first one was a great success and that is why Kinney is kind of famous. The reason why this book was good was because there were jokes that young teens could relate about. There was also family problems that a lot of people were about to understand and also relate with. Like the youngest child in the family being spoiled with the parents love. The oldest is always being mean and acts bad and I don’t really remember what the middle child is supposed to be like. That’s why I think The book was better than most book and funny for a lot of people.

Most great books turn into movies and so Kinney decided that making a movie off of the book would be a fine idea. Kinney didn't know if the movie would be good or bad so he just went along with the idea of making the movie. Apparently, I think the movie wasn't too good and kind of messed up a lot.
In conclusion, the book and series Diary of a Wimpy Kid is great and I would recommend this too kids, young teens and anyone with a sense of humor. This book was a success because of the jokes and because most of the readers were probably able to relate with some of the characters in the book. I think that making a movie off of this book wasn't the best idea because it didn't turn out to be too good. Anyways, this book was great and deserves to be read by more people.
