Spoiler Alert
I
just finished reading the “Amulet’s” first book “The Stonekeeper” and it was by
far, the graphic novel I have read since the bone series. In sixth grade, one
of the most enjoyable graphic novels was the bone series and I wouldn't mind reading
one of the books right know. “The Stonekeeper” by Kazu Kibuishi was very
interesting and I couldn't stop reading it. I’m pretty sure that this book has
a sequel because this book says “book one”. I hope that I am able to read the
rest of the “Amulet” series.
In this book Emily, the main
character, gets a hold of an amulet, accidently and decides to keep it because
she thinks it looks cool. Emily doesn't know the powers behind the amulet until
her mother is in trouble and she tries to save her. The only way Emily can use
the amulet’s power is by focusing and calming down. If Emily masters the power
of the amulet, she can go back in time and save her father from dying and go
back in time whenever she wants to. But when accepting to be the amulets master,
there will be consequences and sacrifices. Emily didn't really have a choice
because Emily said that she wanted to save her mother and the amulet said that
I can help you but you have to accept to be my master. I don’t want to spoil the
book anymore, read the book for yourself and enjoy.
I don’t really know how many more
books are in the “Amulet” series but I want to read the rest of them by the
time I finish middle school. I searched it up online and found out that there
are at least 5 books in the series. So I’ll hopefully be able to read 4 more of
the books soon. I
want the rest of the books to be even better than the last, but I guess I have
to read them to find out how they are.
In conclusion, the book “The
Stonekeeper” as you can tell is one of my favorite books. Emily got a magical
amulet and knows how to master the powers of it and use it at any time. There
are 4 more books in the series that I want to read as soon as possible. I want
to read the second book by next week. I don’t know what to say about the other
characters so I’ll just say I recommend this book to anyone who likes any type
of graphic novels.
